What’s new in Tagbox.io / Desktop App, Video Export & Asset Ratings
This month’s update is all about speed

This month’s update is all about speed - whether you’re opening a file in Photoshop, trimming a video for social, or flying through thousands of images to pick your favorites.
Let’s jump in!
1. Tagbox Desktop: Work locally, just like you're used to
You asked for a smoother way to work with Tagbox files on your computer, and it’s here. Tagbox Desktop is our new app for macOS and Windows that brings your Tagbox files right into Finder or File Explorer.
- Open and edit files directly in Photoshop, Keynote, or any other desktop app - no exporting required.
- Choose which files to keep offline; the rest stay in the cloud and are still searchable.
- Files show up like any regular folder on your computer, so you can drag them into Notion, Monday.com, or email them without extra steps.
It’s a simple way to make Tagbox feel like part of your normal workflow. For more info, visit our help center.
Note: Tagbox Desktop is available on the Enterprise plan only. Reach out to us at hello@tagbox.io if you're interested.
2. Video Export: Trim, Convert, Gifify
First came image exports - now it's video’s turn.
You can now export video clips directly from Tagbox:
- Trim clips without downloading the full file
- Reduce quality to speed up sharing
- Convert formats
- Create gifs for quick previews or social posts
No need to fire up Premiere for the small stuff. Just trim, tweak, and move on.

3. Quick Ratings: Speed through file reviews
If you’ve ever needed to rate hundreds of files in one sitting, this one’s for you.
We’ve added a new 1–5 rating system that works seamlessly in both the preview screen and table view.
- Use ← / → arrows to move between files
- Use number keys (1–5) to rate instantly
- Filter by rating using the file properties filter at the top
This was one of the most-requested features, and now it’s here. Simple, fast, and easy to use.
That’s it for now - but more is coming soon.
Got an idea? A request? We’re always listening at hello@tagbox.io.
gimme more!
