"Do the people uploading need an account or a seat?"
Neither. Anyone with the link uploads without logging in, and they never count against your users. Guest uploads are on every plan.
"Can two people get different rights to the same collection?"
Yes - view, download or upload, set per collection. Finer-grained custom permissions start on Pro.
"A client asks for the same folder six months later. Is the link dead?"
No. A shared collection is a live view of the library, so the old link shows whatever is in it now - nothing to re-zip. And if you'd rather it stopped working, you can disable the link at any time.
"Can we put our own brand on what the client sees?"
To an extent, yes - shared links and guest upload links can both be customised. Full white-labelling is part of the Enterprise plan.
"Fifty photographers are shooting one event. How is that not chaos?"
Because nothing lands on you. Every upload goes straight into the system, into the right destination, with the right tags already on it. No fifty emails, no fifty links, nothing to download and re-upload.
