What's new in Tagbox.io / Tagbox MCP
This one quietly changes where your photos and videos can go - straight into the AI tools and apps your team already works in.

Tagbox.io keeps your photos and videos organized and instantly findable. The next step is getting them out of the library and into the work itself - automatically. Say hello to the Tagbox.io MCP.
It connects your library to AI assistants like Claude and ChatGPT, and to the tools you run every day. Connect it once, and those tools can search, pull, organize, and add to your library on their own - no exporting, no downloading. (MCP is an open standard that lets AI securely talk to apps. Think of it as a universal adapter.) Here's what it opens up.
1. Content that uses your own photos - automatically
AI already writes a lot of your content. The missing piece was always the images - someone had to stop, hunt for the right photo, download it, and place it. Now the assistant finds it itself, from your library, not stock:
• "Draft our July newsletter about the summer collection" returns the copy and the three best summer shots, already approved.
• An agent building a landing page grabs the right hero image straight from your library.
That second one is bigger than it sounds. Your website's images - hero shots, product photos - are usually trapped in your CMS, where search is painful. Bring them into Tagbox.io once, organized and searchable, and every new page, post, or deck can reuse them instead of digging through WordPress or Webflow.
2. Tag and upload by your own rules
Tagbox.io already auto-tags your media the moment it lands. What the MCP adds is running your rules in bulk:
• Tag on demand: "tag every black dress as 'LBD'."
• Find and tag by location in one pass.
• Set automations: "anything tagged Chicago should also get tagged Illinois."
• Import from other sources by rule: pull files in from Dropbox, skipping any folder with 'archive' in the name.
3. Plug Tagbox.io into your project tools
Your assets shouldn't sit in a silo while your work happens elsewhere. The MCP lets Tagbox.io move with your projects in tools like Asana, Monday, and Trello:
• A design task marked Done pushes the final file into Tagbox.io, tagged with the campaign name.
• A new brief auto-assembles a collection of relevant photos, linked on the task.
• A guest upload lands, gets sorted, and pings the project manager that it's ready.
4. Build your own galleries, dashboards, and tools
Because the MCP opens up the full Tagbox.io API, your library becomes something you can build on:
• Embed a live branded gallery that updates itself as you add photos.
• Build an internal dashboard of what exists, what's tagged, and what's been used.
• Power a custom app with your real, organized media.
How to start
The MCP joins the other ways Tagbox.io fits your stack - Tagbox Desktop, Zapier and Make, and the open REST API - and ties them to AI. Connect it to your AI tool with your workspace key (scoped to your workspace and permissions only), then try "find our three newest product photos." You can find more information on our Help Center.
That's it for now, but there's always more coming. Most of what we build starts with your feedback, so if you have a workflow you'd love to automate, tell us at hello@tagbox.io.
